The greenways connecting the deep Girona Pyrenees and the Costa Brava are a magnificent option for discovering a diversity of landscapes, towns and even people by bike. We are talking about more than 120 kilometres that cross five regions of the province (Baix Empordà, Gironès, La Selva, Garrotxa and Ripollès) and are divided into four sections:
- Iron and Coal Route Ripoll-Sant Joan de les Abadesses-Ogassa
- Carrilet Route Olot-Girona
- Carrilet Route Girona-Sant Feliu de Guíxols
- Little Train Route Palamós-Palafrugell
Greenways are communication infrastructures that are no longer used and have been adapted to turn them into routes for cyclists and hikers. Most are old railway lines that preserve their heritage elements, such as tunnels, bridges or stations, and constitute a proposal for quiet, sustainable and alternative tourism, since motor vehicles cannot circulate.
